How do pneumatic air filter regulators work? The airline filter strains the compressed air to remove solids (such as dust and rust particles) and separate liquids (like oil and water) that are in the air. Pressure regulators control the air pressure to air tools and most other fluid power applications, ensuring that excess pressure does not cause unnecessary equipment wear. Pneumatic filter regulator lubricators add metered amounts of the right type of tool oil into the compressed air system to reduce the friction of moving components, thereby extending the useful life of air-driven equipment.
